Water leaks

Gooday all.
This is for a 1987 XJ12.
I have the old problem of water leaking into the front footwells when the air con is on.
The drain is clear, so I suspect a rust hole in the chamber thingy.
Anyone know the best way to tackle this horrible job?
A web site or link covering the procedure would be helpfull.
All the best, Ross.

hello Ross,
have you tried blowing air under medium pressure up the drains? (there's two drains, two clear-nylon hoses, one on each side of the transmission tunnel, right?).

A complete dismantling of the interior and dash to get to the Delanair MK-II core/matrix would be required and I've yet to hear of anyone doing it to a modern Series III XJ. But you might check at Jag-Lovers.org, the Netherlands-based website. I hate to disagree but if water is coming into the footwells, the drains are not clear. My XJ is a 1984, so I'm familiar. I also have a '65 S type, so I know what it's like.

Also, check the following website for a picture of a Series II XJ12C's interior dismantled to remove the Delanair MK-I system! https://jaguar.fiboy.com/XJ12C.htm

regards,
Ex
