Watch Those Wasps!

Up on a ladder, yesterday checking the gutters and a wasp nailed me on the chin! Got up this morning and my chin is pretty sore. Got some wasp killer and got rid of the whole nest! Now waiting for the animal/insect rites group to protest my cruelty to bugs, seems to be the norm these days.

Well, I tap dance on ants and chase chipmunks from their homes in my flower bed, so I'll be joining you...

I've been told the ant/wasp/bug spray should not be used to simply drown the critters... I beg to differ.

Believe it or not, I use canned spray brake cleaner. If it hits them their done for!

I hit the camel crickets with a blast of all-purpose cleaner. Takes a little longer than Raid but less toxic in the kitchen.

Believe it or not years ago my mother-in-law showed me that the best thing to put on a sting is bleach. It worked better than any thing I have ever tried.

Funny I just saw this... was pulling one of the smoker trailers out and rattled a few of the big red wasp nests. They let me know there distaste for the event. Stung 3 times. I enacted a scorched earth policy on them.

I occasionally get big red wasps deciding to build a nest in my gas grill - obviously I'm not going to spray any chemicals or poisons into thegrill I cook on, so the simple solution is to light both burners on high late at night and run like **** to a suitable distance, then watch the fireworks as flaming wasps come shooting out the vents. Next day its safe to open and remove the charred nest and use a cordless vac to remove the equally charred wasps that didn't make the exit.
