GT6 WANTED - LUCAS C40L DYNAMO / GENERATOR [1968 GT6]

Looking to purchase a used Lucas C40L Dynamo. These beasts seem to be a tad tough to source in used format - VB and SpitsBits both offer new / rebuilt ones but my first course of action is to see if I can find a used one in working condition.

Thanks

jb-

just curious, how is that dynamo different from what is on a TR4?

Randy

edit: Just did some quick checking and I think your setup is the same as a TR4. Not sure what price you are seeing at VB or Spitbits, but I suggest you take a look at RockAuto - but don't look it up for a GT6, look it up for a 64 TR4 - you can get this one: Beck Arnley Rebuilt Generator

$61 + shipping - it used to be a better bargain when they didn't charge a core charge.

Randy, the C40L is physically in the neighborhood of about 1" longer than the typical C40 as used on the TRs and Spitfires, Heralds, etc.

Ah I see. Well nevermind then!

And am finding that the extra 1" or the L at the end of the C40 makes these a wee bit more tricky to track down.

Trying to maintain originality and also trying to buy used and not new also complicates the issue.
