While back east on vacation, I was viviting my sister at her job and she was asking about the progress on the MG projects when this guy walks up and introduces himself. Said he heard us talking about MGs...said he had two big Healeys and was keeping one and parting with the other. Said it would take a while to uncover and get some pics. Never fails..every time I try to quit, something interesting comes my way.

soooo where abouts "back east"? (like I need another project)

NO! It must NOT be in upstate NY! It NEEDS to NOT be in upstate NY!
Must run away....
Run away! Run away! :jester:

I'd be tempted myself but waaaaay too many projects as it is. I was offered a 77 to go look but then went away. When I retured, it was gone. Oh well. If I looked at it a probably would have bought. Good thing it was gone.

Yep....upstate NY...Trying to figure out a way (if its as advertised) to hul it back to the desert without breaking the bank. If this dosen't work out I'll talk to the owner, give him this site and let him post or do whatever he'd like....but I'm leaning towards getting it. In the middleof all this I stumbled across a very nice 68 V-8 auto trans Mustang coupe about 130 miles from here....so thursday we're off to collect that one up.

Rust Jack. Rust. You are gonna find rust and corrosion hiding in the seams of that Healey like nothing you'll ever encounter in New Mexico. Go buy a case of PB BLaster and get your torches ready. I've lived here all my life and been an auto technician for all my working career. It just creeps into everyting round here between the road salt and the humidity, and the temprature changes.
Better tell him to just have it sent over to my house... hehehehehe.
But I'm seroius about the rust.

I know about the rust up there....grew up in Cooperstown, just got back from there a week ago. A ten year old car there is called a survivor. The 68 Mustang I'm picking up tomorrow is rust free except where the vinyl top was tucked under the rear window chrome....has a couple of scaly spots there...nothing thru though.

The car's in my neighborhood, if you need pictures, or a tow to Banjo's "home for abandoned LBC's" let me know if I can be of any assistance.
