Want a good Laugh "me and my first TR3"

This photo was taken when I lived in Huntington Beach, CA in 1971. My wife looked at the pic laughed and said what a beater of a TR3 and what a svelte looking guy. Now she looks at me and says to herself what a beater, but what a svelte looking car.

All kidding aside - that is a way cool picture. Thanks for sharing it.

Uh Russ?

Was that back in the "grim times" when personal poverty
would not permit any food intake? I had to double check
you were not a mailbox on a post beside a car!!

I had no idea they used to manufacture 18"X32" pants
for men. hohohohohoho

great photo!!

Tinster; That's is funny, I just got back from Kolh's with a pair 38 X 30 dress slacks. I think those in the picture had to have been 28 X 30. If I remember correctly I sold the car for $500.

Looks a bit like me posing against my MGB in the 70's (1st sports car and I didn't know better at the time). I was also trimmer in those days.

Indeed -- we weren't always a bunch of old guys in Triumphs, once we were a bunch of young guys in Triumphs:

Alas, the silk shirt is gone, the hair is gone and the '58 TR3A is gone too.

Re: Want a good Laugh "me and my first TR3"

tdskip, I lived in Huntington Beach off and on from 71 to 79, I grew up in Phoenix and drove the TR3 back and forth many times. And yes George I spent time in Tucson as well. My youngest daughter lives outside of Flagstaff, so I still have alot of ties with the Southwest.

Ah - we'll don't be a stranger if you ever end up out here again.

Somehow a picture me standing in front of the Mazda MPV just doesn't seem as likely to evoke the same reaction years from now...

Russ -- we seem to hit the same places. I too lived in Orange County CA and also spent many years in Southern Indiana.
