Wally Parks died in September. Older guys may remember him as one of the founders of the Southern CA Timing Association, and later, Hot Rod magazine and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). He probably did more to foster hot rodding in the fifties than anyone, and definitely did more to legitimize drag racing. The NHRA museum is named after him.
