Walking thru darkness...

My sister-in-law and her husband have no children, but they do have two exotic pointer dogs. The dogs are their children. They sleep in the bed with them, yet! Well, the oldest dog took sick and the vet told sister-in-law the bitch had 6 months to live. Heartbroken, she asked the vet if there was anything he could do. $6000.00 worth of palliative treatments was offered, and the dog would still live only six months. Sister-in-law opted for the treatment. The dog died in six months.

One of my old Army roommates was an Army veterinarian. (Basically, they are meat inspectors for the Army.) Doyle told me that when he got out, he was gonna limit his practice to small animals because little old ladies (read that, my sister-in-law) would spend anything to keep their pets alive.

As you might guess, I am not a pet person so I don't quite understand......

Especially cats.

I hear ya although I had two that were great pets.

If Doc says he was a great pet then I can assure he was top cat!

We've have probably 40K in vet bills over the past 9 years. This mostly on her dogs. I sure do miss my 40K!
