We're about to take off for our second summer pilgrimmage to the pacific northwest. This year we're shooting up in a three day run from Phoenix via Nevada, Idaho, Oregon and Washington st.

Going to be hanging our in the Seattle area from mid june to mid july. Any events, gatherings and such would be great!

If you see a black F150 towing a red Spitfire throughthe middle of nowhere, that'll be us!

Wave as you pass Portland... though we're heading to France in a week (until into July). :yesnod:

Mark- What part??
Jody- Let me know when you get in the area

Mark, will do, but we'll pass well east of Portland.

Don, will let you know. I'll be on the river up near Steven's Pass. Should be settling in to the place on Saturday.

Several days in Paris... then to Verdun... Reims, Colmar, Beaune, Chamonix, Vaison La Romaine... Rhone Valley, ending in Nice. We're only going down the east side top to bottom this time (visiting a lot of vinyards of Champagne and Burgundy). We're excited for this 18 days away. :yesnod:
My wife can speak a little, but I doubt I'll ever learn to "talk pretty" - still I LOVE the place.

When you're in the Rhone . Pick me up some Wine.
Some Chateau Neuf too

Cool. We'll be in Nevada, Idaho, and California about the same time. I'll be on the lookout for a red Spitfire. Mostly seeing friends & family although for our anniversary my wife got us tickets for a blimp ride in San Francisco. (I got us a new patio table...)

Have a great trip!

We're safely at our first stop (minus one jumping on the bed related injury). Sitting in Ely, Nevada. Covered a lot of miles today. Tomorrow we're off to Boise. I'll write a little more when I'm not quite so road fried.

Sorry Doug. Eureka's not on the itinerary this year, it's a speed run, not a fun run.

Jody

:eeek: We no longer bring the stuff back as it's SUCH a pain these days (given you can't bring it on-board). We'll be passing through Chateauneuf du Pape country though. Last September we picked up some nice stuff in Alberrabello (sp?) in southern Italy and one broke (though it was well isolated and wasn't the mess it could have been). These days one just has to pay to ship it home. We'll just have to drink it in situ.

Well, can't fault you for that.
Please drink a few bottles for me then!! :thirsty:

Deal. :yesnod:

Made it to Boise. Today's driving was more relaxing (and much shorter). Stopped for gas just outside Twin Falls, ID. Ran in to a group of guys driving rental cars from one facility to another. The Spitfire drew them in, talked to a fellow who is finishing up a TR4a.

After Twin Falls we were on a multi-lane highway for the first time. Recieved a lot of thumbs up from folks as they blew past us. Tomorrow is over into Oregon, up into Washington and finishing up the run. Since we were passing through Boise we had to stop and acquire many fireworks.

Saw along/on the road today: 50 Studebaker Bulletnose, tons of vintage trucks, a nice 70's Merc sedan, and a suprising number of Geo's running about (Metro convertible, Tracker, and a Storm). Would have figured those would be in the great junkyard by now.

Today's injury was a faceplant in a truck stop parking lot. So, my boy looks like we seriously beat him. I hope it heals up before we cross into Vancouver/Victoria for Canada day. Don't want to get questioned at the border by the Canadian authorities.

I wouldn't worry too much. The injuries are far more traumatic for his Mother who has no experience with little boys.

We made it safely to Index tonight. No more long drives through mountains with heavy U-haul trailers. Blech.

Tomorrow I'll get the Spitfire unloaded and take it for a "test drive" to make sure it's ok for mum.
