Well, 8.1 is coming soon. Anyone have any thoughts about this new version? From what I get is it has a lot more apps, as if we need more apps. I have 75% of them shut down on my machine. Not into that stuff. Don't do Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo etc, etc! That's the main reason I hate w-8, their constantly shoving stuff at you, mostly stuff that I don't need or want! Like a phone, I use them to talk to people, not text news articles, contact the NASSA space station, or to get beamed up by Scotty or Captain Kirk! It's a Microsoft conspiracy for sure! When 8.1 hits the market, they'll drop W-8 support and try and force w-8.1 down our throat. I think we should go back to crank phones and the pony express! :highly_amused:

Then--Strike any key!

One of my peeves is that a lot of the so-called "Public Document" websites will only operate correctly with IExploder. MS has coerced/cajoled/intimidated too many organizations into "compliance" with their warez. It has become less an issue over the last few years but is still there in too many sites. Thankfully, the open-source community has made great progress in freeing up the information super-highway. Mosaic/Navigator/Firefox, Mozilla will not go away. Tim Berners-Lee loosed the Web onto the planet, not li'l Billy Gates.

And Linus Torvalds handed us a dandy alternative O/S. Gates' supposed monopoly never existed. His stuff is just the lowest common denominator.
