Doesn't matter - I clicked Gubba's link and got it, as well.

Not sure what the issue is.

I did a traceroute and ping to the url as well as to the ip. Several times there were significant delays along the route - like ten times as long as the best times.

This can depend on things like:

- where you are in North America, (physical distance from you to the website)

- your isp (internet provider)

- your home/office internet box (cable, dsl, etc.)

- your dhcp server (translate the url to the ip)

- congestion anywhere along the lines from "you" to "them".

I get fast connection to www.vtr.org about 30% of the time in the last 10 minutes. Rest of the time it's very slow to reach the site and/or load the page.

Strange. Both links work imediately for me.

I've noticed (as mentioned above) that VTR is generally a *really* slow site. I assume it's either hosted in someone's closet or on super cheap hosting.

Try connecting via the IP address (https://69.174.114.172/). If that connects easily, but https://vtr.org doesn't then the issue is with your ISP's DNS. If not, then it's a speed/connectivity issue on their side.

I'd bet there wouldn't be any problems if Basil hosted it.

Oddly, that's the only URL I have problems with; it loads quickly (as do www.vtr.org and vtr.org), but most of the images don't. :confuse:

The website itself is looking for the host header of VTR.org. That's why those bits don't work, there's no host header. I wouldn't try using the site that way, it was merely a test to see if he can connect that way.

Both URLs work fine for me. Ping consistently shows under 80ms, and I'm on the west coast. Looks like they use InMotion Hosting, who seem to have a reasonably good reputation.

I have a lot more trouble with BCF itself. Both from home and from work, there seem to be an awful lot of dropped packets. Some times are worse than others, of course, but I have occasionally had to hit "refresh" a dozen times or more to get a page to come up (don't have enough patience to wait for that many timeouts).

Both links work really quickly all the way over here too!

It works fine for me, however I'll pass the concern along to the VTR web guys.

Bob, where's Triumphest 2011 gonna be?

Howdy Folks,

I was just driving thru and "Both" work just fine for myself as well. Virtually instant connection.

Note to self: next time, try this up and coming technology, some crazy thing named Google; maybe it will catch on.....

Yes, Kevin. Triumphest will be held from Sept. 15-18 in 2011 in Big Bear, CA.

Okay folks...this is the problem..res ieframe.dll dnserror.htm
if you google this nasty little thing you get all kinds of people having the same problem and many fixes...but none of these work for me...I have two cpu's and two laptops in my house and none of these can access VTR...so I think it may be my router or my cable providor...all the same I still cannot get on to the site.

Interesting way to get people to pay dues
