Goes against my philosophy for this project -- I've waited this long, I can wait a bit longer and make sure I get everything done correctly first.

Wonderful news Drew, Mary Jane and I loved the video, and decided to join in the fun, we broke out the last of McClellands and toasted in your and Tunebug's honor sir, job well done, enjoy !

So Drew,
Congratulations, loved the video.
So my merry BE # AN5L 30409 was sparked today for the first time, and lo and behold it runs!!! Liquids had stayed in their respective places, and no more than one part flying off! Do you know what happens when the tach gearbox seizes up? Mine flew off to the side of the garage, after twisting the tach cable times than any prezel I have ever seen! Lucky I was stnding to the front! Engine is still a bit rough, so another go at the SUs, as always, is clled for. I tried out the transmission, that was my first rebuild ever, and it has all the gears, although a bit noisy right now.
Does anyone know if the tach gearbox should have a gasket between the end pieces. Can one take the key out which fits in the generator end and then drive the small gear to the rear? Has anyone rebuilt one? Did it last, or should I just buy another one. This was an original unit. When I was building my first BE, I remember taking the tach gearbox off and throwing it in the garbage, with the thought that I would never need that again, as my first was converted to electric.
My goal is to get this ready for the Woodland, CA meet on May 23rd.
I still have a lot to do! Bleed the brakes again, interior, and put on the bonnet bumpers and windshield.

Congrats Drew ! what a great way to share with us ! Thanks ! Good Job Buddy !
