Well, we did it today. My friend Joe came over and we started up the Tunebug for the first time in 3 years. Even took a little drive (see the video for more).

We also bled the brakes again and got the alignment done. Just a few more small projects (like a muffler, for instance), and I'll be on the road again. I'm guessing just a week or two now to road legal status. Woohoo!

A short video of the day's events...

Day vs night .

Awesome, But I would have at least done a victory lap around the cul-de-sac.

Congrats, make sure you start with clutch out ( no gear selected) much less effort for the starter.

Thats awesome Drew you have the whole summer to enjoy it now!
Many happy travels and smiles for miles.

I loved the video! I still refuse to believe it has been 3 years.

Hard to believe but you got there, Now to get that muffler on and go out for a drive. Just keep your foot off of the skinny pedal for a while. Congrats.

My mom said the same thing when I told them about the day's progress. Still, 3 years it has been (4 since I bought the car) -- almost to the day. I pulled the radiator and gas tank in late April of 2007 for a quick cleaning...

I have to give Hap full credit for his engine and carb work. Other than installing them in the car, I didn't touch the setting on the carb (just the idle screws to set the 2k RPM idle for cam break in once the car was running).

What you saw on the video was how it went. Two pulls on the starter and almost no cranking and the car fired right up. I've still got to do a little fine tuning on the balance and all, but just minor adjustments. Impressive!

Four years, my got. Seems like last summer.

WOOHOO for sure!. I am so jealous. Mine is still at least a year away. As for the Macallan, well, the sun was over the yardarm somewhere, wasn't it?
