VRG Turkey Bowl at Summit Point

Dart, pretty cool looking side pipe on the Spit, did he get that car from a guy in the Hendersonville, NC area ?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, the Spit came from Southern California. The side pipes are way cool, and the nice gray exhaust deposits on the inside of the pipe are even cooler!

Met DART and Michael in the Paddock. The TR4A with Surrey Top was nice! Is he from B-more, too? Is he in TRAC?

Steve had a little oil leaking from the head gasket, which we decided to live with for the weekend. Then the gear-reduction starter went south. We replaced it with a stock one that came with the car when Steve bought it. Got on the grid just in time for Sunday's race. Steve ended up turning a 1:33.81 on lap 13. Second to a yellow Alfa in class and about 8th overall. Seemed like Steve was catching the Alfa, but the race was a couple laps too short! Not too bad for his first time in this car. Didn't put a wheel off all weekend. Winter to-do list: new head gasket, new starter.

we had "unofficial" 1:35's for him

[/ QUOTE ]

Mary said she had me at 1:46 on Friday and 1:42 on Saturday. I guess that's pretty good given the power disparity.

Those are pretty much my times at SP in #11.
In the enduro, we both got #23 Sprite down to 1.38-1:39, but it has a more potent engine.

That's good to know if and when we cross paths! There were several Sprites in attendance but only one Sprite in my group and I guess he had a 948. He was very fast in the corners but there's no substitute for cubic displacement and I could always lose him in the straights. Attached is a shot of me just getting past him on the downhill approaching the Carousel.

Best--Michael Oritt
