Volvo S60

I've been reading up on the Volvo S60 as a possible replacement for my wife for her Miata. Its either the S60 or a Mini (S). Last weekend we went and test drove an S60 and, while the car seemed really well built and wa very very comfy, the steering seemed a bit on the "too-lite" side. Anyone else drive a new S60 and find the same thing?

Don't know much about Volvos but is the “light steering” an issue for you or your wife?

I learned a long time ago that when looking for a vehicle for the better half I have to make a concerted effort to ignore my own likes & dislikes. While I enjoy the feed back from the suspension, brakes & steering - the wife is at the other end of the spectrum. While she prefers them to be capable (power, storage & gizmos galore) I've noted that she likes to be in her own little cocoon that is almost totally isolated from the road and likes her vehicles to almost “float” down the road.

She can have mine, I'll even through in some loud CD's and a set of ear plugs.
