Great deal on a couple of bugeyes with racing history for $3,500 on BringaTrailer: https://bringatrailer.com/2015/09/08/period-race-history-3500-austin-healey-bugeye-sprite-pair/

Saw this Rick. The Black car has a sebring dual brake kit, Huffacker motor and front disc brakes. It looks to have very little rust, but a lot of dents. The pair are a great project at the price.

The 57 car may have been raced since new. The ad refers to being previously raced by "Tom O'Neil" Racing Sports Cars shows results for Sprite racer Thomas O'Neill going back to '59 https://www.racingsportscars.com/driver/archive/Thomas-O'Neill-USA.html. The caliper on that car is a Girling Type 10, used on the early Sebring cars but I believe also available from Donald M. Healey Motor Co. Wire wheels were more of a late 50s thing than late 60s. My guess is this car was pretty well kitted out when new and stayed pretty much that way since retired. Again, cheap money for a car with some potential great history.

If I had $3500 lying around, I'd be $3500 lighter in the pocket and overflowing the driveway with Bugeyes.
