VIN Number Curiousity - 1960 MKI

I am just curious. I own a 1960 Austin Healey BN7 MKI with VIN HBN7L110009. I have the BHT certificate. All stamped numbers on the car match the BHT. So, I am to assume it is a "numbers matching" car? Also, do the last 4 digits in the VIN (0009) have any significance? Was the car the "9th" one manufactured? It does have 100-6 parts as well as 3000 parts. It was born in 1959. Just curious. Any comments would be appreciated.

Isn't the 1 after the L supposed to be a slash? Anyway, you have car number 10009, no significance to that number. BN7 numbers started at 186 and went to 18888 (but not all were BN7s as BT7s are in the mix as well). According to Clausager, though, the range of numbers assigned in 1960 went from 6831 to 13538, putting your build date in the middle of 1960. Your BHT cert says 1959?

If the numbers match the car and the cert, it is "numbers matching" as it relates to the major components. You may have ancillary 100-6 stuff on there, making it not completely original, but still "numbers matching." Two different concepts.
