Videos of the Elva Courier

very cool - thanks especially for things I would never see even if I saw one at a show (like inside the trunk) Mind you if you drive like you video - invest in a roll bar. :jester: seriously, very cool!

I did video a drive - wind noise was overwhelming - though I was not as distracted

I was going to do a "some say" and have my wife arrive in a pink nomex suit and helmet
The video production costs would exceed decorum

I do have a roll bar that bolts in for track days - as that is what it what the car was made for

Maybe another video

I should show how it was built for race maintenance -

no crossmember under the pan for qwik brg changes - starter button under the bonnet to adjust valves - radiator that pulls up and out - to gain access to cam timing and the front of the engine for cam replacement or timing change

The very easy way for rear end ratio swaps (midget minor based) t
from the inside of the car

Access to the transmission is easy as well

Attach points for WW 2 surplus safety belts

it is very well done

too bad Mark Donohue is not around - he would say the same things

Nice car. I have always liked them.

I race with at least a half dozen Elvas. You can see some in the photo below (taken at the PVGP). The white one with red stripe is Michael O's (he's a member here at BCF). Michael has two racing Elvas.

If you click ~Here~, you'll see Michael and one of the other Elvas pass me at the start of a race (Watkins Glen). I eventually passed the red one, which was pretty good considering I had a broken intake manifold stud and huge vacuum leak.

I like the picture - I pointed out to a casual observer two years ago, someone who never heard of Elva before, at Portland International Raceway vintage race - That it was the most popular car at the track (road and race) and that there were more Couriers within 400 yd radius that what he was driving, In fact there were more Elva's all in all than any car on the track save Porsche and that he should look at the manufacturing badge for Elva-McLaren Mk 1's just in case (there were two)

He came back two hours later with a few friends gave me a "Top Ten Roadster Badge" from the Miata club.

He said I was absolutely right and surprised that Elva was a bigger name in 1964 than McLaren
