video links?

Good morning all.

Before I head out to chase the cows and plow the cornfield ... wondered why we're continuing to have problems posting video links. You can always post the direct url for a video, but you *usually* can't successfully embed the video using the "Enter a media tag" icon in the post window.

Several other guys have reported the same problem. Take a look at the Tool Score thread:

https://www.britishcarforum.com/bcforum/ubbthreads.php/topics/456750/all/Today_s_tool_score

On 5/15 Banjo's 7:44pm video link works great, but just 20 minutes later, Steve's attempt to post a link didn't work, so he had to add the direct YouTube link.

What happened to Steve is what happens to me whenever I try to add a video link. I *think* it worked fine for me before the forum software upgrade about a month (?) ago.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
Tom

I just tried posting both of those videos in that thread as a test and got the same result (one video would play and the other would not). The only thing I can think of is that the person who posted the video on the youtube site may have set the options to disallow the video from being played on different web sites. When you make a youtube video, there are several options for "sharing" you must select. That is most likely what is going on here.

Thank you Basil! Never knew that. I just tried in another thread and the video posted perfectly.
