Now that we have passed the 8,000 member mark,
I am positive I am no longer the only Triumph
owner with no auto mechanic knowledge.

So here's a little video clip I made for the other
forum dummies, just like me, who know almost nothing
of auto mechanics and such.

A failed TR6 water pump ( I think failed )
coolant less than 6 months old, additive for pump
lubrication added and also water wetter.
Less than 50 miles driven since coolant change.

So you guys and gals like me- if your pump sounds
like this one- that is probably a bad indication

Nothing wrong with that Dale. TR6 water pumps are suppose to sound like that. That's how you know that are running.

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!
sorry. I know it's another failed part, and that stinks. But that video just struck me as hysterical.
hehehe...ehehehee.
I'm gonna watch it again.

I'm with Ben, and that really is a catchy tune. Now if that is off, does this mean the new one is already in? BTW, blame Brosky. Remember his car was marking territory? Amos tried, but you had him sealed up so well, he blew his pump.

I just want to know how you got Thing and his brother to star in your video. Did they retire to Puerto Rico?

That's a deer warning option for early 69 TR6. Remove at your own risk.

Dale,

I'm sorry. I missed this post. That is friggin' hilarious!!!

Well, to me and the others, obviously not to you.

That's another thing that we've been meaning to talk to you about. Your sense of humor seems a little on the low side lately. You can't be getting tired of fixing one thing or another, or are you? Well, if that's the case, then I guess that we need to talk about your patience too.

Do you actually think that it's more fun to just get in these cars and drive them mile after mile??? Have you actually spent more than an hour behind the wheel of one of these TR6's? Not much room, is there?? There's a lot more room to stretch out in your garage. Besides, if you get tired, you can just go take a nap on the couch, or under the car for that matter. You can't do that in freeway traffic or on a winding country road, thats for sure!

You just need a three day fishin' trip attitude adjustment.

I am in that category too. I am a computer geek, not a mechanic! But with help of this forum I am attempting a rebuild of the engine (if I ever get the head off!).

Even though you have a TR6 I have found your posts helpful and I am glad to know that I am not the only one that attempts jobs that we feel is over our heads mechanically sometimes.

If you ever get to the Tampa area let me know and if the Spit is running I will take you on a 70MPH drive down the highway. It is an adrenaline rush for sure in a car that small! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

Do they have deer in Puerto Rico?

Cyber-

Thanks for the offer of a 70 mph drive in your car.

Here's a video of my car doing 70+ with a crazy minded
Canada master mechanic beside me. David had just installed
the new clutch, we boosted in the tranny, bolted in two
seats and headed for the beach highway in a car with no
interior whatsoever. Not even a tranny cover.

Two or three weeks later the passenger wheel seperated from
the frame on this same stretch of road. The car has been on
jack stands being repaired ever since then.

I hope you enjoy seeing one of the very times my car
has been operational.

Anyone that hasn't done that, has never worked on a car !

Best way to learn, IMO. 'Hard Knocks' teaches things that aren't covered in any other school.

Roofman-

No deer remain on the island. The Spanish and Dutch
conquistadors killed them all off.

But we do have chupacabras that the hunters seem to
enjoy going after. They are hunted at night and I'm told
it is quite dangerous because the chupacaba is a carnivore
that lives in trees. Huge claws and tusks like a wild boar
can rip a hunter to shreds pretty fast. The chupacabras
silently drop from the trees onto their prey.

I'd hate to have one of these nasty beasts drop onto me!

Dale,
You are lucky that you are not being attacked by the local bird population. That sounds like the mating song of the robin to me!

I feel a little sick with all of the camera shaking! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/pukeface.gif

I liked your opening and credits.

You had a lot of faith in the old Crypt car pulling out around and passing that 18 wheeler!

From Wikipedia:
Chupacabra (also chupacabras /tʃupa'kabɾas/, from Spanish chupar: to suck, cabra: goat; goats sucker) is a cryptid said to inhabit parts of the Americas. It is associated with the ancient myth of the chimera or griffin, and more recently with alleged sightings of an unknown animal in Puerto Rico (where these sightings were first reported), Mexico, and the United States, especially in the latter's Latin American communities. The name translates literally from the Spanish as "goat sucker."

lol. That's funny!

Well, you wouldn't laugh if a chupacabra got ahold of
YOUR dog, now would ya? Not a pretty sight.

A buddy of mine lost two dogs and three chickens to the chupacabras!

sad but true, he swears.
