Came across these two photos recently of some rather unusual vehicles...

Flying saucer? Do they have VW Beetles on other planets? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And for the record... I believe the space ship Beetle was seen in Sacramento, and the "Hillbilly Hummer" lives somewhere in the upper peninsula of Michigan

And aren't they great? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I kinda figured the hillbilly hummer from Alabama... Aparently the common thread among rednecks is owning a wire-spool table. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

hehehehe. I'd have guessed the same but I don't think they know what plows are for in Alabama, and that's got a plow lift on the front...
Definatly different.
How come Beetles are such common targets for automotive "artists"... poor little cars.

To add insult to injury, how about this beauty? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif

From the same place as the Beetle, apparently Del Paso Blvd in Sacramento, for those who are interested...

That's th' best of the bunch, IMO!! A *wonderful* upgrade to a french engineering exercise./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

hehehehe. I get what it's supposed to be, but it looks like a giant Condor died on the hood.

Factories were capable of producing some remarkably odd and ugly cars as well.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif I don't know, atfer living in Italy for a short time I kind of got used to them, after the initial stupification wore off that is. Though they did still look out of place whenever I saw them in the UK.

Yup! Me too. "Vestigial" fins are fine with me. And if it's the "slant-six" so much the better.

Those Valiants could be had with 413 and 426 Max Wedge engines producing 425hp. The cars, in base form, weighed just under 3000 pounds! Ugly, but fast.

That Citroen is an art car gone bad. I actually have never liked the looks of Citroens after the Traction Avant. (Just a personal taste thing.)
