Vendor info request

I searched but didn't come up with much....so..
I ordered a new top for my Jensen from MacGregor in Canada. I've bought trunk seal from him and it was fine. This time I can't get him on the phone and he doesn't return emails.
Is this his SOP or should I notify my CC company to cancel the transaction and order a top from someone else? Anybody know him?
I have a question about the product and not being able to get in touch with him makes me question my decision. I've been screwed by vendors too many times to be charitable.
Thanks
BF

It's been a long time since I've dealt with Ian, but my experience was similar. No contact at all for weeks, then he showed up and shipped my parts. Said he was on holiday or some such.

This is SOP - he is reliable and has a great product but is ummm quirky.

Give it some time but, if you are really stuck he is only about 45 min away - so I might <might> be able to help.

Thanks for the info....I've called and left messages twice, one message included my question. I've bought from him before and was happy with the product and I try to support the little guy when possible, but I've got a deadline and I would like this top installed. Don't know what to do now. Wish he'd answer his phone

That's really gentlemanly of you to even suggest that, and while I appreciate it, it won't be necessary.

What's his usual time frame? 2 weeks or 2 months? Does he go to Florida to avoid the Canadian winter or something?

Don't know that he is a Florida guy - which is sad 'cause he could deliver it in person. I think (from these boards) that he is a week or two guy (not month or two)

BTW his business is not a storefront but a garage/warehouse - so it's not even like there is a front desk anywhere

PS He is actually more likely to be in the UK than FL

Hopefully it's not something like he's fallen ill. On a photography forum I frequent, a member had a problem with a one-man shop related to camera stuff. Turns out the guy had been unexpectedly hospitalized with a sudden and serious illness and was incommunicado for several weeks.

Good news...I spoke to him today....says my top will be sent out.....looks like a good time is in the offing.....

glad it worked out! He always seems to come through - just on his own time!
