VAR file extension problems

Since many of you here have extensive computer knowledge (and I'm at my wits ends) I'm hoping someone can help. Several years ago (many actually) i put some data on a floppy that was written with a VAR file system. I need to get back into these files if I can, but my Win 7 computer doesn't recognize VAR. I don't have access to the original program nor who or how it was written. I can get into the files using PDF, but it's hard to read. I've looked on the internet for some REAL information until I'm ready to hurt someone. Can someone give me a clue? What am I missing? How do I fix this? :wall::wall::wall:

If you mean the filename ends with ".var", it's probably a data file used by a program.

To see what's in it, just start up Notepad, and open the file(s).

Hope this helps.
Tom

Yes, it did. Stupid me forgot I need the program for the data to fit in. No amount of tweaking will get what I wanted. You just reminded me of that. Thanks Tom.
