TR6 Value of 1970 TR 6 project.

I have found a 1970 TR 6 project. I have completely restored two MGA's, an MGTF and am currently in the latter stages of a 1964 Austin Healey 3000. I would like to know a decent price for the TR 6. It is local, complete but not running as it had a small electrical fire in the engine compartment. It only scorched the paint on the hood and of course ruined the wiring. The body is straight, no rust, door gaps look very good, door glass is OK, windshield needs new glass, interior needs to be completely replaced, paint is shot, no convertable top, has good factory hard top, and chrome looks ok but will have to be rechromed. I restore to driver quality not show cars and to date I have not sold any of my cars. Still trying to figure if my two girls want any cars. These cars require so much work you know! Thanks for your opinions and have a good day!

So many factors to consider, kinda hard putting a true value on these items with out pix and more info.

One thought is to go to Ebay and compair to other car in similar condition!

good luck.

Ask the owner what he wants to sell the car for, then you will get an idea if he just wants to unload it...or he knows the value of the car for parts. But without seeing it I would suggest $4-500 since it needs everything under the hood, and a convertible top. Most of the time, if the owner knows you intend to restore, they will give it to you for a lot less. I look at this from the perspective that the car is useless to the present owner in burnt out condition, and he will have to invest thousands to get it running again.

Add another 4-$500 for the factory hardtop, and don't forget to check the frame.
