Hi, How is everyone doing? I'm rather new to the forum but I have posted some questions. My last post was with reguard to the "gulp valve". My next question, I was able to plug the extra hole on the manifold and keep the car (76 B) running, next there are two ports on the right side of the carb looking from the driver's side, when I piug the port closest to the fender no problem, when I plug the port closest to the manifold the car stalls right away, please note the air pump and pollution crap has been removed, I sure would love to take my B for a ride before winter in upstate NY or at least enter her in our local St. Patrick's Day Parade!! Any help wold be great!! Thanks, Mack

Hi Mack,

I don't have the slightest idea about your problem but I'll bet that one of the "B" experts such as Tony can help.

Jmack, the port closest to the fender should be connected to the charcoal cannisters located on the passenger side if they are still there. You can probably get away with just leaving that one open. The other one is connected to the crankcase via a tube on the front of the engine. This feeds any unburnt gases back into the carb.this should be connected or you will probably get an exhaust smell in the cabin of the car.If you plug it off the car wont run.Hope this helps.

Hey JMACK, The problem is your probably spilling Millerlite in the vacuum connection. When you lean over to work on the motor, you need to plug your helmet beer holder so the beer does not spill out. Maybe by St. Pats day parade we both can ride. Ha Ha, JMac
