V8 Car's at the Painter! FINALLY!

Yes, Tony, you have ruined one of the typical classic sports cars of all time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

When you are ready to repent, let me know...I will help to save your soul by bringing a trailer to haul that monster to a place where she will be every cared for, loved and DRIVEN to exercise the demons that have obviously possessed her! I will make sure that she is saved as she has been altered, and trust that God will save me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL THING YOU HAVE CREATED I can't wait to see the completed project /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

bah... I bet you'd generate some hate mail even if it were a Pacer or Gremlin... there are more than enough MGBs to go around... I think what yer doing should be applauded! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Heck, there are more than enough MGBs around....just at Tony's place!

Yep, we're putting 1949 Buick port holes in them...but their functional....we've designed a system that'll pull hot air out of the engine compartment through them (ala the Fiat Dino)

To think this whole thing got started because I lost oil pressure & needed to do a bearing job...the 'might as well's" got to me...

...where I really went wrong was buying that hardtop...its one of the ones used on the factory-sponsored cars at Sebring back years ago...weighs about 10 pounds at most...had to design a car to fit under it!

I'll give you a ride in your goddaughter if you let me drive the monster.

[/ QUOTE ]Boy, is that grandson going to have something to look forward to--inheriting a one-of-a-kind MGmonster. And just wait till all the Alabama good ol' boys in their monster 4x4s hear that little LBC coming down the road! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Thanks Tony,

Hope that V8 has a pair of nice glass packs, ought to be really sweet when you put the petal down.

Ahh, can I get in line or make a reservation for a ride as well pls.

so, did ya make your goals for wieght? I bet that thing'll really move if ya did... as for exhaust, a silent one would make it a sleeper... well, I guess it can't really be a sleeper with all the body mods on it, but still with a silent exhaust all the "tuner" ki... errr... guys'll be cleanin their britches when they see it take off.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

After 5 or 6 weeks of holidays, I made my goal for weight.

On or off???

....runs for rock to crawl under.....

On my good man, on. That's why food today consisted of coffee, Thai cabbage soup and edamame!

We centered the gas tank & rerouted all the plumbing & wiring so there's room for dual exhaust from the front to the rear - & the rear valance is redesigned for the dual exhaust to exit through it aka the old Corvettes or Mustang GT's

You shoulda been at Abingdon inna early '70's Tony! They coulda stayed in business with an offering like that. And with basically minimal retooling!

I WANT A RIDE!

Minimal? heck, doc, there's not a body panel that we've not massaged!

I understand... Once there's a "prototype" they'd make the various dies and stamps and PRESTO! Cuthbert's th' parrot of yer Great Aunt! Abingdon lives!

But alas, you've had to do it on yer own, as a one-off.

Now it's *just* UNIQUE!!! Abingdon's loss.

...I still want a RIDE.

heck, doc, I WANT A RIDE!

You better get some stick time before Gatlinburg, man... If I can get there, I'll be holdin' an "A" ride ticket!
