Here's a photo as we took it from the last body shop - owner passed... so I could find somebody to finish her....Today, I spent 8 hours, round trip, taking her to Bill Wheeler's shop in West Point, Mississippi...he's gonna finish the body & maybe - just maybe - I'll get it put together in time for the V8 show up in Townsend, Tennessee
People will either love it or hate it - but, that doesn't matter - I love it!

What color Tony? And what the heck year is it?
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Its a highly modified '79. Janel...Pageant Blue will be the base color....there's almost nothing left on that body that even resembles an MG - here's what it looked like when I tore it apart:

Was a nice car.

Highly modified you say? I hadn't noticed. Going to have it in Gatlinburg at the V8 show?

I hope to

I'm sure John Mangles will be there with his V8 MGA. We may go down for the V8 show too. After Binabox is finished, dahubby's going to need another project.

Tony, Are the bonnet and headlight treatments from the Team Liebre people or is it your own design?

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Headlight treatment is one of a kind - my design...my hood started out as one of the prototype's that ultimately became Team Libre's mold...but we've modified the heck out of it...if you notice, it has a GT6 bulge on top of it & we figured out the dead spot on it that'll allow it to pull air out through a set of vents in the "hump"
if you notice, the side moulding line has been removed, the rear wheel wells rounded, & a set of custom flares molded in...the rear valance is also one of Team Libre's prototypes (its the first with the recessed license plate)

Is it going to sit that high when it's finished Tony, or is that because the bonnet's empty and there's no weight in it?

No weight in it - not even an empty gas tank...it'll be about the same height as Binabox

Tony, I hate to break it to you, but that headlight treatment isn't one of a kind. Go to the Team Liebre site, look under the body treatment section, and you'll see another car with the MINI headlights.

Good to see that you're going to finally finish one of your projects though.

Nope, James...theirs isn't even close to mine...I've seen that car - drove all way down to Cocoa Beach, FL to look at it...the guy who built it took a set of steel fenders & cut a big hole in them...then he stuck the Mini headlights up inside the fender (the chrome rim actually disappears inside the fender)...my fiberglass fenders are custom cut to fit the headlights

Okay, wasn't waware of that. It'll be an interesting car to see at MG 2006 should you get it there!

Sorry about that little photo...go back now & look again...look at the line on my fender alongside the headlight - its straight...look at the line alongside his headlight - its the original MG line & that headlight is actually sitting in a hole through the fender...water goes in that hole! My headlights fit flush all around...my fenders have been sectioned 4' up their length in the valley & the front edges have ben shaved almost 2" to narrow the distance between the edge of the hood & the headlights.

I think you & I, James, might be running a race for unfinished projects...I've got 3 right now! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

woohoo! can't wait to see this monster completed!

Monster is right, Rob...& its even drawn some hate mail recently!

bah... I bet you'd generate some hate mail even if it were a Pacer or Gremlin... there are more than enough MGBs to go around... I think what yer doing should be applauded! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice! I really like the 3 port holes in the side.

It's one of those cars Tony. Like you said, people will either love it or hate it.

I love it because it's still a B, and because you had the guts to go and do something way extreme to it.

I hate it for the same reason.

Darn'd thing's gonna need s'more lift surface if you 'xpect to get it airborn for more'n a few yards, Tony...

......or just opt for a Flux Capacitor and be done with it.
