Do the V8 and the V6 Tasmins have the same radiator?

I think that there is more than one option on the V6 cars one has an electric fan?

This is for my 5.0 conversion....

Yes, there were different radiators used for the V8 and V6 wedge TVRs. There were also a couple of different style radiators used on the V6 Tasmin/280i series. The series 1 and 1 1/2 wedges had a radiator in front of the engine whereas the Series 2 cars had a nosecone radiator. The former had a clutch driven fan while the latter used electric fans.
The V8 radiator was also cooled by twin electric fans.

In my recent V8 conversion I am using the V6 nosecone radiator and it seems to work fine but that is with a Rover Motor. Not sure how a 5.0 would work as it may have more stringent heat requirements.

How do you convert over to the nose cone type? What do you mount the radiator to? Could someone send me pictures? My guess is that the rover v8 puts out more heat than the ford, but that is just a guess.

Andy,

I can probably get you some pics this weekend, but I'll warn you that there's not much visible.

As far as capacity, the 5.0 would be putting out more BTU's and therefore have a higher cooling requirement. That being said, the Rover engine is not nearly as forgiving as far as overheating. Probably a mute point as your wedge probably doesn't have the same rad as the Rover powered cars.

I was looking on EBay for aluminum radiators and it really pays to get a rad for a popular car. Some of the lower profile ones, like for a Camaro, look like they could be made to fit at an angle. As I am finishing the shock & spring install this weekend I will take a look.

What year was your wedge?

Guys,

As far as I can tell the Ford V6 and Rover V8's used the same radiator. My current project a Lotus 7 clone Superstalker uses a 2002 V6 Superchaarged GM motor and a 87 Hyundai Excel 4 cylinder radiator without any cooling issues according to the 100 or so owners. Of course it is an open car without heat or air but the radiator is tiny!
