Used parts, battery cables, rocker switch etc.

Where is the best place to find people selling used parts for the E-Type? Ebay seems to be slim pickings, as does jag-lovers. This is a new experience for me: with the 914, MGB and TR6 there always seemed to be lots of people selling used parts.

Right now I'm looking for

a) a rocker switch cover - the one on my Main Lights switch has a broken tab hole
b) heater blower fan mesh retaining ring - mine is MIA
c) a pair of the pieces that attach to each side of the bonnet and hold the threaded locating pins that engage in the receptacles on the bulkhead, and secure the bonnet in place
d) two grub screws for the steering wheel hub

I'm continuing attacking little jobs on my '69, gaining some confidence.

I fixed the turn signal indicators and horn push.

Diagnosed a wiring problem blowing Fuse 7 - traced to a loose connection on the cigarette lighter assembly.

Removed ghastly wiring (which had burned and shorted) to extra front fan.

Removed black goopy stuff on Nardi wheel holding the emblem on, and found that I could attach it alright using the one remaining grub screw in the hub

I've found a few things that concern me:

a) Engine oil looks very dark (Engine had major work done in 2004 ... I have a copy of the receipts here and here )
b) Expansion tank on bulkhead for cooling water was empty (but still wet) ... so I topped it up to halfway. When I did so, the liquid looked like it had a lot of particles floating around in it
c) Hanging, disconnected, pipe under radiator: I suspect that the A/C system is incomplete and that the condensor was removed to fit the extra fan, or something. The rest of the parts seem to be all there.
d) Perished battery cables
e) No battery hold down strap or fittings

My garage is too small to investigate underneath properly, so the next thing is to move the car into the back yard and get it up on jackstands for a thorough check underneath.

Xks unreasonable... err unlimited has new repro switches. They work OK, and are not grossly overpriced. Try Fred Petroske in NY for used parts. , There is a guy in Virginia named Stefan Roundy,foggylondon2@hotmail.com,
but he now spends half the year out of the country. On Ebay, check etype- E Type- XKE and any other varients that you can think of.

Welsh Enterprises in Stubenville, Ohio has a large resource of used Jag parts. www.welschent.com

The XK's stuff will be okay, we've used Welch in the past with no problems, as well.

Thanks, chaps - advice noted.
