Sure this a VERY longshot, but anyone out there have billet crank for a 100/4 thats used? Know we can get one made from Moldex and buy one off the shelve from DWelsch or S.Carbs, etc..... We already have Carillo rods, and would rather NOT have to buy new rods to go with the English billet cranks. Not to mention, shipping and VAT. Ideas, thoughts, etc...
THanks

No help with the crankshaft, but have things changed, I never used to pay Value Added Tax in the past?

Hello Randy, If you order a part, pay for it and get it shipped outside of the UK you don't pay VAT. But, if you order a part, pay for it and pick it up from inside the UK then you pay the VAT.
When you leave the UK you can apply to get the VAT back but you need a receipt stamped by the people you bought the part from and, you also need to show the people in the VAT office at Heathrow airport the part in question.
I can tell you that the airport security will not allow you to take a crankshaft through customs, period.

wandango, It may be possible to get some kind of discount if you could order say 5 sets of crank/rods but don't quote me on that. It would have to be worked out with whoever you buy them from. The actual manufacturers may give a discount it's worth a try.

Best regards,
bundyrum.
