It was a 1961 MG. It was totaled.

Cool pic, IMHO.

Oh man, what a parts car, Lots of good stuff there even.

Wow:

By todays standards that car would br no where near totaled.

About 20 years ago we fliped a midge on asphalt, the worse part was that the flat bed company dragged it on and off upside down.

We restored em.

He said he paid $2300 for it way back then.

There was a plastic/fiberglass convertible top on it, and the windshield was crushed.

He was given the opportunity to buy it back cheap, but decided an MG in winter in Canada was a bad idea.

OK - I assume he wasn't hurt - what happened?

Where in NS? Looks like an average snowfall year /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif This California surfer had a great time driving in the snow during my years in the Maritimes. Here that car would be weighed down by tire chains and they would crawl at 10 mph in a snow flurry /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif . There it would be considered unusual to drive on dirt roads covered in snow at 60 mph (100k) with a little sand thrown in /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif.

Great pic....poor car.

I joined the upside down club in my Mark I 1600 in 1969. Other than knocking down the high spots it wasn't in too bad a shape. Unfortunately mum didn't think too much of it so it was gone for ~$150.00 if I remember correctly. Oh I wish.

He lived in Liverpool, NS.

He said he hit a snow drift and flipped it right over.
I think he ducked down then crawled out the side door.

It was this pic that got me interested in British Convertibles in the first place! I thought the pic was pretty cool, although I do not wish to flip my TR6.

Gotta love the snows out back, and the old radials out front. I can just imagine how that'd handle in the drifts.

No imagination needed, the picture tells you all you need to know. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Hope your dad made it. I have to look under mine to make sure every thing is OK. Thanks for reminding me... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif
