Does anyone have a recommendation for a company which will restore cracked and ageing leather seats? My preference at this time is to have the old seats restored rather than completely replace the upholstery and would appreciate any suggestions of vendors that offer this service? Thanks much

The best way to restore old seats is to have new seat foams and covers installed.
, unless the existing old seats exhibit very little wear and damage.

However, a well known shop is' [h=2]Heritage Upholstery & Trim[/h]

Thanks both of you, considering all options at present so as to make the right decision when the time comes. the Leatherique products are probably the way I will go if I go the DIY route.

Many owners make the mistake of doing their own seat trimming and there's nothing worse than a beautiful paint and body job botched by ill fitting seat covers. Don't scrimp on this area. I believe Geoff Chrysler may be a good resource for you. Pay attention to seat foam firmness. Mine had to have holes in it to allow me to sit in my seat and not on top of it.

If the seats are cracked they need retrimming and that's a job best done by a top flight trimmer rather than struggling with an ill-fitting trim kit. Mt. son is such a trimmer and a couple of his jobs have exhibited at Pebble Beach where a Bentley got a third behind two far more exotic cars and Amelia Island where his was the first Bentley. I cajoled him into fitting the kit Moss supply (it's made in Cirencester) to my TR3A. He went ape, he hated it and the result it produced. Not only that but he reckoned he could have done the job properly for not a lot more.

The Real Hide Company (UK) can supply the original Connolleys Vaumol to if you want it exactly right. It's very expensive but worth it.

PS. My son is in the UK, so obviously can't do the job, but I'm establishing "expert" opinion. :(

This is exactly what I want to accomplish.

Here's a Rolls-Royce that's been restored from quite a poor state using the Woolies Kit.

I had a terrible experience with Heritage Trim out of Vancouver. Non-responsive to calls made, never got updates. The first partial shipment I received was packed so poorly that both front seats had perforated leather. I followed up with Heritage and never got a response to the damage as well as the remainder of my parts. They still have a BT7 Rear Backrest of mine from 6 years ago. Ended up being a total waste and had to have the interior redone here locally. Thankfully, found a great guy that does Porsche interiors and he did a great job for me. Stay away from Heritage, just my 2 cents. - Jim
