Updated Pics! completely restored the drivers seat

Wow! First one I ever did and I am very pleased. Entire kit came for Moss Motors. The sew job on the upholstery wasn't perfect, but what it lined up nicely when done. I am just finishing up the painting the rail bolts to give it th efinishing touch. i bough tnew ones (they are nice shiny metal), but I am tryign to save the old ones and refinish them. So far, one rail set works great..kins worked out and all repainted black. The bottoms I opted for some black cloth from my local Rag Shop instead of the fire retardant diaper that was there before. Let me knwow whta you think. Passenger side is next. It appears to be in nice unripped shape except the rusty bottom, but since the driver was moldy underneath I am assuing the worst and going to redo it anyways.

After! (for some reason they are in reverse order...ugh!):

Re: Updated Pics! completely restored the drivers seat

Thanks for the feedback guys! It helps keep me motivated since no one else seems ot give a poop about this project. I get "hey, cool" and a look of "who cares"? Well, I took someone's advice from a Mustang forum I am on and if you just use the Phosporic Plus (sp?) from Home Depot, you just spray it and let it dry over night after you scrape it with a brass brush for loose rust/paint. I sanded them by hand with a sanding pad and then sprayed them and then brushed them the next day with the brass brush to remove any residue. Its an overnight process to dry. Hit it with some Rustoleum Car Primer and then spray paint with some Rustoleum gloss black. For the really bad rust I first used Naval Rust jelly level 3. You spray it, let it sit for about 10 minutes and then brush it with a brass brush. I use the Phosporic Plus after to give it a nice coat to the metal for protection and do any last rust removal (if any) since the Naval Jelly eats 90%+ of the rust off but does not coat it and the Phosporic Plus does. As far as going to Las Vegas to do your seats..heck YES!! I have been dying to go to Vegas and have not had the opportunity yet!! Now on to the Passenger seat! I am bothered that it is in such good shape on the outside and probably as moldy and rusty underneath *sigh*...Stay tuned for more pics!!

Re: Updated Pics! completely restored the drivers

Hey guys, I removed all of the old parts from the Passenger seat. Anyone want them? They are not ripped, just worn and have rust stains on them (maybe removable??), the web harness, the seat adjuster and screw and foams. The only thing I trew out was the moldy cardboard backing and the pink plastic undercover. PM Me. I just ask you pay the shipping.

Re: Updated Pics! completely restored the drivers

OK, I am going out tonight int he dark to scrape down the passenger seat frame with a brass brush...then spray with Phosporic Plus!! WOO HOO! overnight to dry and tomorrow I paint that baby and get her ready for the reupholstering. Had ot order 10 more clips from Moss motors. Since I spent $900+ for the original order they were kind enough to ship them for free..weee! lol...I cannot wait to have this done. Probably finish this by this weekend since I have to teach 12 nights a week and the little one;s bday is Wed, with a pary on Saturday and the girlfriend's bday is Thrusday and celebrating thurs night, fri night and Saturday night..cripes..looks like the seat will be done next week... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif!!
