Update photo, engine bay still a work in progress.

Yesterday, the sun came out and so did the TR.

Still trying to clean up the engine bay in prep
for engine install. Used POR-15 black. Shiny. I expected
that.

As I had extra paint in the bucket, I just took the left-over stuff and started painting the exhaust pipes, rust
and all, little to no prep. Figure why not, I was
going to toss it any way. Test the metal of the product.
Done this before, some amazing results; some not so good,
as could be expected.

I'll be talking to the tranny guy this afternoon
about receiving my unit for overdrive upgrade...and
while we're at it, a look to replace whatever is necessary...
basically a rebuild...dang. I thought it was good,
but might as well, might as well....

Rocker assembly still at those specialists in Anderson,
CA. My car is all over the place. Cause we like
pics, here is my engine bay in progress.....

Looking pretty clean. All ready for that engine. The waiting is killer isn't it. Though there's all ways something else to do if the money hasn't run out. LOL

Re: Update photo, engine bay still a work in progr

Looks good.
Just stare at it awhile and you'll figure out something else to do.
I'd like to see the rocker assembly when it comes in so please post that pic too.

Re: Update photo, engine bay still a work in progr

Thanks, Norton..and prb, you'll see her when she comes
in, I promise.

No offense to the pros; but before you take something in, they talk like: Yeah, send her in. I'll have it back out
to ya by....yadda yaddie.

Then I call the day before it's supposed to be done, it's like: "Did that come in???? Hmmmm, it's got to be here
someplace. Are you sure you sent it?"

"Yes, I sent it UPS. Somebody named Bill signed
for it."

"Oh, yeah, Bill, right, he works here. Must be around
here somewhere. Well, when we find it, I'll get it
done and give you a call."

or

"Probably have her done by Monday next week."

after a call on that following Tuesday:

"Call me again on Friday, I might know something."

Whew. Tell you what, if I worked like that in my business,
I'd be outta business. My clients are demanding and my
field very, very competative.

I had my rockers done by Rock Arm Specialists too and they did an unbelieveable job. Worth the wait!

What is so unique about Rocker Arm Specialists? I've never heard of them.

I don't know.

Came recommended; viewed their web site; looked
good to me; we'll see when the thing arrives, I suppose.
Considering this is all they do, (specialize), seems
they ought to be pretty good, eh?

Actually, I do anticipate a good job.

Do you know of anyone else that specializes in rebuilding rocker arms ?

I had RAS do mine; the price was very close to what just the parts would have cost me and they did an outstanding job. I honestly am still not sure whether they rebuilt my rocker arms or just changed them with new ones, the arms literally looked brand new. The shaft WAS brand new, only parts I'm sure were my old ones were the pedestals and end caps. All the small hardware (adjusters, nuts, springs, etc.) was replaced.

Thanks, Randall....and no, I don't know of another.

Another testament to the good. I'm expecting good
things.

Local shop here in New Bedford, MA called Motor Tech. I supplied the paint and assembly work.
