Update on my improvements....

It has been a long process but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I decided some months ago to improve the performance of my TR6 after adding on a few components and not getting the power improvement that I hoped for.

First the head. I sent it to CDA Machine in Webster, NY where Bill Crosby shaved it by 0.120" to get it to 9.5:1 compression ratio. New valve springs with teflon seals, 3-angle valve job, port/polish and bench flowed the head to the triple intake. Gotta find a local auto machine shop who can shorten my new chrome-moly push rods to accomodate the shorter head. Use ARP chrome-moly head bolts.
I have 1.55:1 roller rockers covered with a cast aluminum valve cover.
GoodParts GP2 cam is installed and setup with a Kent adjustable cam sprocket.
I had my stainless Falcon 6-3-2 headers JetHot coated to reduce the radiant heat a little (really don't want to wrap them), waiting to reinstall the headers along with the triple intake from Richard Good. Had my ZS carbs rebuilt completely to concours condition (showed them off in a previous post).
Replace the aluminum bridge at the front of the sump with a steel one. (That guy does a good job)
Have a Ron Davis aluminum radiator coming in next week, have the Spal 16" puller fan sitting on the bench waiting. Still have the oil radiator. Had the dizzy completely overhauled and will continue to run points and condenser.
Converted to Delco alternator a few months back. While waiting for parts, I put in Ricard Good's steering rack brackets. Still using his oil separator, dropping the suction from the valve cover back into the sump. New oil pump. Dumped the fan and put the aluminum hub on the crank. That's about it. I am tired and my fingers are sore. Thank goodness dentists have to wear gloves, no one would let me put these mangled, oil-stained finger in their mouths. (You know, it's funny, I would rather work on my Triumph than look in mouths all day. But my day job supports my addiction to my TR6)
Will hopefully be able to post a success story around Thanksgiving.....

How hard was the oil seperator to install ? I think it's a great idea. I would imagine the oil pan has to be removed ?

Mitch, it wasn't that difficult to put in. I removed the pan and welded a theaded inlet near the top on the left side of the pan, well above the oil line. I mounted my separator on the left side of the engine bay, right below the master cylinder. (there is a flat spot on the wheel well in this area. The suggested area right in front of the heater hose inlet was kind of busy.) The apparatus seems to work well.

It's on my wish list for the holidays. The thought of removing a leak free oil pan is gonna freak me out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I really don't have any "flow data" from the machinist. I am not really sure what exactly flow data would be. I left that up to the guy doing the work.
