Update on 70 TR6 I took a look at

Last week I told you guys about a 70 TR6 for sale that I was going to look at. Well I went last night and saw it. It is in a weird state of I don't know. The car it painted with some sort of thick rubber like paint almost like a light undercoat or bedliner material and is yellow, most of the seams are filler up with this paint. The trunk lid and lower door panels have cancer (Rust bubbling). The floors and trunk floor are very good with no signs of rust. The dash has been removed, all the gauges and controls are in a bucket. All the wiirng is there and doesn't look as if it has been altered in any way. Trans tunnel is bad so is most all of the interior and top however the frame is good. All the rubber seals have seen better days. The chassis seemed to be ok looking under the car which is on it's tires so not much room for a really good exam. The wheels are some poor example of a dish slotted aftermarket that looks very wrong on the car. Missing parts list would be front grill, shroud inclosure to the radiator which might mean the front was damaged at one time. The engine was started and ran, Not from gas from the tank, said to have 70K on it and hasn't been reworked at all. couldn't test the trans but was told it worked fine. Seams in the body looked about right however it was hard to really tell with that paint on it. The engine bay trunk and doors tell me the car was red at one time. Gas tank looked ok but has smelly gas in it.

Offer a buck-two-ninety eight and see what he says. Sounds like a big project.

I'm not in a hurry to buy. If I find something I like I may buy. This thing is a fill in the blank. However for a parts car what is the going price???? The asking price on this one is $2100. It's engine does run and is complete, alot of parts to be had. I would probably be rebuilding the engine anyway just because I like to but it's nice to have one that hasn't been opened up before.
