Just happened to see this 1956 100M on ebay. Don't have the link or more correct, not sure how to post the link but easy to find as listing has a B&W picture of it racing. All in parts and supposedly pretty rust free which the pictures available on ebay tend to substantiate. Do not know the seller personally but think he deals in these type of projects. Will be real interesting to see what this goes for with fully restored # 1 cars going close to $200K based on some recent auction sales. Right now at $9k+ but just listed and has 9 days to go.
Regards,
Mike

Very interesting. I will be anxious to see what it sells for. I was taken aback by the "Windscreen Washer." I didn't know such a thing existed for the Healey?

Not aware of a windscreen washer ever coming on a 100-4, think that bottle got included with all the parts and pieces he's selling. At least not mentioned or shown in the Anderson/Moment bible ! Already up to $25,100 and sure that is way short of the reserve.

I just looked at it and its up to $30k. I have a 100-4 tub in the field I got years ago. It was already stripped. No plate. Is there any number stamped on it anywhere. Its rough and rusty but a few good interior tub panels left on it.

Marv

Hey Marv,
Does it still have either the hood or trunk lid or aluminum cockpit mouldings ? If so, those will have the body number stamped on them. You say it's just a tub so probably do not have them. Otherwise, nothing was stamped on the frames of the BN1's or BN2's to my knowledge. The above pieces would have that body number which you could use to get a Heritage Certificate.
Regards,
Mike

Mike - no hood or moldings. I have a BN4 with numbers on the body panels and front shroud, Hoped there was numbers some where else. Any one want a 100/4 tub cheap. PM me if you do.

Be fun to make a 100S clone (have you seen the parts Denis Welch offers to do this?).

As soon as I "come in" on a lottery, I'll be giving you & Jeremy a call!

Marv - on your BN4, where are these numbers on the body panels and front shroud?
do these numbers match the body # of the BN4?

The BN4 has numbers on the front shroud (in the lip in front of the radiator and of course on the mouldings. Trunk lid has a number up near the hinge. Numbers do match the body. There may be more else where but thats all I know of.

Would have liked to know what it went for! :hammer:

Sold for $70,000+ to Tom Kovacs of Fourintune. Found this out from a friend that was serious about it but bowed out at $65,000 or so. Now will really be interested in what it sells for after completed as Tom does great work !

Interesting! Personaly, I would have held out and let the auction run its course... you never know what kind of cash that 100M could have commanded in the end. I am sure that 70 plus grand would have been there for the taking at the end of the auction anyway!

Sometimes it is better to have some idea about the future of the car then to earn more money. Glad tot see its in good hands with the chance to see it on the road again. Sorry for those stored in private garages that never get dirty anymore.

Hans

Hello Hans, I think who ever payed that kind of money for a basket case no matter who bought it would have had the resources to do a proper and deserving restoration. I was looking at it through the eyes of a business man and share the same passion for preserving these rare and beautiful sport cars. In any case, Its great this 100M will be back on the road sometime in the future and can be passed on to another generation. Regards, Michael.

Car was advertised on Hemmings for sale before & during auction.
640 factory M's documented made & slowly more of the missing cars not accounted for by the M registry being found each year & with a M title any 100-4 can be made to appear to be an original M car. Good risk to assume prices are going to climb
