Since nobody has mentioned it, I'll go ahead and offer kudos to the UBCC of Sacramento for the wonderful event they put on in Dixon, CA yesterday. Their website will have photos of the more than 300 cars that were on display. I'm not much of a show guy or or a club guy for that matter but I talked to so many people, both other car owners and the people who took advantage of free admission and free parking to stroll among every marque I could think of and then some, as well as race prepared cars. I have to say that seeing 8 or 10 E type Jags in a row on an 85 degree beautiful day was spectacular but pehaps outdone by a handful of insanely beautiful XK 120s, not to mention 4 iterations of Lotus 7 cars, lots of big and small Healeys, a ton of MG TD and TFs, I could go on.
For me the best part was swapping phone numbers with two people who were starting or about to start working on a BN1 and a BN2 and had lots of questions. And yes there were a fair number of young folks although I have to say, gray hair was much more common among the owners of the cars on display. I got to have falafel for lunch from one of the food trucks and the swap meet was large and diverse. Good show.
