Have a look at this thread on the Spridget side - the fire may have been traced to the overflows on the SU carbs, but the owner just provided an update about 7 minutes ago:

Best spot I have found for a fire extinguisher is just in front of the passanger seat. Does not need to be screwed down, you can grab it quickly, etc. Guess how I know this. lol
