Undercoating Alternative

Having completed the body work on the six's wing panels I needed to paint the underside with an appropriate undercoating. I needed something that looked decent, was durable and not too pricey. The solution; truck bed liner. This is a vinyl based product that costs about $6 per spray can. I have to say that I am very pleased with the results. The product coats well leaving a mild texture, is not too glossy and dries hard as nails. I'll let you know the long-term durability with a new post in about 25 years.

That sounds like a viable alternative to undercoating. Actually, anything is a better alternative to undercoating. That stuff is just plain nasty. Might as well use the stuff from the La Brea tar pits. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif I'm using some stuff from Eastwood called Rust Encapsulator, which is similar to POR15. It dries a flat black, but can be painted over if desired. The only problem with the Eastwood stuff, is the expense. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
