Photos of Paris under German occupation. Parisian Raoul Minot defied the ban on photography, and took hundreds of "forbidden" photos.

Thanks Tom, quite interesting. Hopefully the younger generation will never loose site of what happened back then. It has been said, Peace and harmony are only one generation away. PJ

Some won't lose sight, but for many, my nieces included, even Vietnam is ancient history. You really have to have an interest in how the world evolved to today with the short attention spans so common now.

The vets of WW2 were the middle-aged guys back when I was a kid in the 60s, used to know quite a few as parents of my peers.

Thanks for sharing! I’ll share this with my youngsters… not sure if everything will stick, but hopefully a little rubs off

My coworker and I were talking about history in general. One thing we discussed was that when history is taught in school, the events are taught such that it seems like things were separate and happened in a sequence. The reality though is that things were happening at the same time in multiple places. You learned about the war in Europe and then you learned about the war with Japan which made these things seem like two separate things even though they were happening within the same time period. The interconnectedness of things is lost which is unfortunate.
