Ugly shoes - just $795

Only a Loafer would buy them.

Or a heel.

Once again we realize that with everything (including cars) money can't buy taste, (and of course the emperor has no clothes  )

Are you suggesting I have no taste? Ok, I can buy that :cool-new:

I don't know - did you order the shoes? (and the backpack of a previous post?)

That is akin to the filthy jeans that cost nearly five hundred.

I've got a few of those, does paint and holes bring a little more money? I even have some old shoes that the wife would be happy if I got rid of them also! :highly_amused: PJ

But their Soooooo comfy! :encouragement:
.

The do sell things with a label of "distressed" with wear marks and holes. I think we should open a BCF for sale page where we can all post our garage worn stuff for a few extra bucks...

Oh yes! Not to mention all my "distressed" parts!

Boss,

You could buy a pair of those,& set them near your
24K Jaguar toilet seat.

As well as 'distressed' do they come 'pre-odoured'?

Well Doc, It proves that women haven't a clue as to the importance and value of such items! :highly_amused: PJ

Related to paying a premium for odd stuff: Harvard Business Review just published a blog that people are willing to pay more for "unintentional" mistakes. For example, buying a old photograph that was accidentally double exposed, etc.

"Lastly, we looked at auction sales of original vintage photographs โ€” some of which were made by mistake and some of which were not โ€” that were sold by the same dealer on eBay. The mistakes originated from a variety of causes, including double exposure, blurriness, and the photographerโ€™s finger being in the exposure (finger bombing). These mistakes were explicitly noted in the eBay description of the photograph being sold. We wanted to see whether photographs containing arguably negative properties (for example, blurriness or finger bombing) received a premium relative to those containing no such negative property. We found that, indeed, consumers paid more for photographs containing a mistake in their creation than photographs that did not."

(There is a link to folks like us... our LBC's are loaded with mistakes! We just call them character, or marking territory, or rust-proofing, or...)

Paying more for unintentional mistakes? Like this US airmail stamp with the Jenny printed upside down?
