Did the 74 model only come with Sabrina's or full Rubber bumpers?

Very early '74s had chrome overriders with rubber inserts.

The last of the chrome bumpered models had the Sabrinas.

The 74-1/2s received the rubber bumper treatment.

Clausager should have the dates for the changes.

I've got a set from a 73 I think I'll throw on. It's going to look much better.

Got my eye on a 74 1/2 sitting in a guy's driveway. He has told me he wants to restore it, but he hasn't touched it. I know he doesn't know much about B's because he called the carbs Holly's.It also has O/D which I'm sure he doesn't know about.
The car has the huge overriders on it. I'd probably keep them on just to be different.

Rick, if it has Sabrina's on it, its not a '74-1/2....'74-1/2 was the designation for the rubber bumper car.

True true. And if it has an OD in it, try and talk him into selling it to you.

...or late one night just back a trailer up to it (KIDDING!!!)

Don't laugh...a guy down the street has a 68 B in his carport that is rotting into the ground...four flats, top is gone, full of leaves..but the rust hasn't gotten to it yet. I figure it would be months before he even noticed.....hmmmmm
He doesn't deserve it anyway treating it like that!

Sabrinas are cool! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif There were 2 cars with them at MG2007 in Sonoma this summer: mine and one other. No one had to ask what year they were!

It does put them in a specific time frame though. Thank goodness, not for long.

"Sabrina" overriders started with car #340000 (January 1974 build)if I recall correctly. Previous to that number have the chrome with rubber inserts tha began with the so-called "Leyland-ized" 1970 cars. My 1974 B is #336nnn (December 1973 build), & it has the chrome with rubber insert overriders.

I removed the Sabrinas from my '74 altogether and rather like the clean look. If you do put the chorme/rubber overriders on, it looks better if you use front overriders on the rear so you don't end up with 4 license plate lights.

Folks will still know it's a '74 from the rear bumper with the center bolt and the more outboard location of the overriders.
