So, three projects on the MG: replace the alternator, replace a bunch of lift the dot studs around the back deck, and finally replace the broken soft top frame with the shiny new one.
Lift the dot studs: easy-just whip out the panels along the back and screw them in.
Top frame: a little more involved. The captive nuts on one side are bad so we had some fun tightening them up through the access hole. But it's in-as a temp measure we're just going to unbolt the header from the broken frame and screw it to the new one-new vinyl is not in the budget.
Alternator: new ones don't have the pulley or fan attached. Fine, we can just take the old ones off, right? No. It's pretty well siezed on there, with the permanent loctite and rust. And it's Saturday, so there ain't any shops open (if there even are any near here!) and we don't know anyone with a shop. So, new ones are ordered and will be here later this week.
Two out of three's not bad-naturally the "one" is the one that won't let the car run!
