I have a M Owner's Manual and a Part's Manual. I believe both are available through the TVR Club. Not really workshop type manuals but the part manual is big and it does show you were everything belongs. That and a TR6 manual ought to do the trick

Gentlemen, Thanks again for your previous assistance. I have a new problem. My Tach on the 74 2500M doesn't function. I am unable to find a schematic diagram for its hookup. I thought that the 74 TR6 might be the same. However, no such luck. Can anyone tell me if there are any schmetics that show the wiring of the Tach. on a 1974 2500M. Jerome.

I notice that the 2500M schematics don't show the tach. Is the 2500M electric or is it normally a mechanical one like on a TR6?
My '71 2500 has an electric tach, and the wiring diagram shows a white wire that goes from the ignition switch to the tach, and then a white wire from the tach to the + side of the ignition coil. There is also a Green wire (+12V) to the tach.

Jim & Steve, Yes the tack is electric. Steve thank you for the schematic. The wiring that my tack has is like Jim has described, White wire in from Ign. White wire out to ? Green wire for 12 Volts. Again you Chaps have given me great assistance. I can only say,"thanks again". Jerome

Sorry, you're right that schematic was no help at all.
My '77 2500M is completely apart right now but I do believe it is a electric tach as Jim mentions.
I'd follow Jim's advice. I know that you need a "trigger", that would be the coil/dizzy wire. Plus a wire for the ignition - so if the ignition is on - the tach is on.
