TV Show Northern Exposure

So, along with things we enjoy, has there been anything you watched where you wondered why did they even consider making that.

For me I recall from when I was a kid

"It's about time"

Two astronauts that went back in time, cave men/women, dinosaurs, etc. Not what I would have wasted money on had I been in charge..

Watched 10 minutes of whatever that show was with Paris Hilton and Nichole Richie and that's 10 minutes of my life I will never get back! :poop: I have never and will never watch the Kardashians as I know my life is better for not doing so! :triumphant:

I stay away from pretty much all "reality" type shows, those above, Survivor, Big Brother and so on. Only see sometimes a couple minutes here and there if I turn over to watch something that might be coming on after one. Keeps me from yelling "My Eyes!!, My Eyes!!" too often...

Here's one that flopped the first time it went on the air

As host Jackie Gleason said afterward, "how it was possible for a group of trained people to put on so big a flop."

I remember Tim Conway explaining his his license plate - "13 WKS" (or something like that.
He said that every TV show he was in (except "The Carol Burnett Show") only lasted 13 weeks.

Another flop, "My Mother the Car". My folks saw Jerry Van Dyke doing a local dinner theater not long after it went off the air. My mom said she expressed to him how sorry she was it was gone as she had really liked it. She said that his rely was, "You were the only one"...

On that same note - I was one of the seven people who actually
paid to see the movie "Heavens Gate".

For the only season it was on, we watched Briscoe County Jr. Bruce Campbell was the lead character. What an interesting mix of old west, science fiction and fun. One episode had Timothy Leary as a scientist. He was going to Germany to help the Germans build a lead zeppilin. One time a character was on a stake out and a kid came by to give the cop a donut. The kid's name was Duncan, the guy says, "Thanks for the donut, Duncan."

I loved Brisco County Jr. The entire premise was fun, and just enough over the top to make it campy. John Astin was one of the recurring characters, the Professor, who invented a lot of modern things using 1880s technology. Even if you haven't seen the show you'll likely recognize its theme song, which lived on long past Brisco.

Yow - I completely missed Brisco. Great, slightly over the top intro, with lots of 1950s western cliche' moments.

Wonderful if it's streaming somewhere. (We should start a thread on "streaming shows we enjoy".)
