T-Series Turn Signal Flasher

My flasher just slowed down and now only flashes about half as fast as it should. All circuits and connections are fine with the proper voltage everywhere. Anyone have problems with these new flashers, mine is only a couple years old. PJ

Paul - how 'bout some details. What flasher (electronic or non-electronic), what bulbs (LED or incandescent, etc.)? Any bulbs not lighting up fully?

I found out the flasher went bad. I found the old flasher that was in the car when I bought it and it works fine, over 30 years old but made here and works like new! Only LEDs on the car are in the dash, the rest are all as original. The flasher that went south is Oriental junk, same as the brake switch that also went bad!

When I restored a TD back in the 1970s, I installed a new flasher and it didn't work. I checked the wiring and it was fine. I took the flasher back to the store and got a new one. It worked fine. Apparently they are fragile and finicky.

I purchase flashers all the time with date codes. Simply put new inners in.

I found out that the ones made here have different internals, better quality, IDEAL brand is one. The ones made in the Orient are poor quality (JUNK) and if they work and for how long is a gamble. I have a 1986 Ford Ranger pickup I bought new and it still has the original flasher in it! 33 years with the same flasher, among other things, that says something for American made products!
