Turkey Bowl 2010

I finally got up the stomach to edit and post this clip from the Turkey Bowl 2010. This was my second time out in the Mk IV and I was running the enduro to get additional seat time. Joe Dockman was driving a fast Daimler SP 250 and he and I had a couple of good laps when something went way wrong for me--see it here:

I hope not to flinch on the straight at next week's Jefferson 500.

oooof! Great until the end!

That SP250 has some grunt!

I am working day and night to get my Sprite ready for the Jeff. I know I'll have teething problems with the new engine install and a bunch of other stuff....I just hope it ends up manageable. Hope your car is all set to go.

(I'll bring a box of 2011 VRG business cards/schedules over to your regalia stand.....maybe folks will grab some as they look at the stuff for sale).

See you Friday!

Ouch!......Michael, I hope you came away from this ok. I watched it a few times, the car just begins to drift to the right while the wheel remains straight. Any idea on what the cause was?

Dougie--

It seemed to me that the rear of the car rotated to the left versus the front to the right, almost as if either the rear left or front right brake locked up momentarily though there were no signs of that and with all the damage to the front it was pretty hard to tell what broke when.

I attribute the accident in part to my inexperience with the car--had I steered left a bit sooner and a lot harder I might have been able to straighten it out and keep it on the pavement, but I didn;t and once the right front wheel went onto the grass I was screwed.

Dale--

Of course you can--it's on YouTube and public.

Michael, sorry about your crash. We'll be at the Jefferson 500 as well with the two McConnell MGBs, and it going to be last minute to say the least, I'm bringing Fred's new race motor with me in the truck, and we will install it there at the track, and I'm putting the finishing touches on the motor today, wish me luck

I know the feeling. My 1275 just went in a few days ago. I drove it under it's own power for the first time today. See you guys there......we'll be there Thursday night.
