I am trying to decide whether to convert to tube shocks. I have searched the forum and it seems the best conversion is the Putzke Fahrpass system. It looks great etc. except for the price which is $999! I guess my question is it worth it? Any comments are apprecitred!
Thanks

How many miles do you plan on driving your car and do you race your car or do gymkhanas? With normal driving your stock shocks will last a long time! I had Koni conversion on my Healey in the '70's and didn't notice too much difference than the stock setup for normal driving.

I have that kit and it is a smooth ride. The car does not bottom out. I thought it was worth it.

Tom--

As with many upgrades that is a rather subjective question. I did the Putzke conversion in 2003 and can only say that I like the result.

Thanks for the comments. My car presently is not a daily driver although at one time it was. I don't race it and just drive it for pleasure now. I was just thinking of upgrades that I might do and the tube shock conversion was one I was thinking of. I appreciate the posts.

Why not just have the originals rebuilt by Apple Hydraulics and have them install the uprated valving in them to make them a little stiffer ?
I did this to both my BJ8s
