TSD Rallys in Illinois

Effective 01/01/08 TSD Rallys are banned in Illinois REGARDLESS OF SPEED. The statute is 625 ILCS 5/11-506. I have contacted my State Representative about the problem. I suggest that all that live in Illinois contact their State Representatives and/or State Senators about this statute. Please pass the info on to anyone planning a Time Speed Distance Rally in or through Illinois.

The actual words "TSD Rally" do not appear. In section 2 defining "street racing" which is outlawed it includes operation of one or more vehicles over the same course from the same starting point for the purpose of comparing relative speed. Now, that sounds like a Time Speed Distance Rally to me. Whether speed is actually directly compared, or not, if time and distance are measured then speed is determined indirectly. 11-506 is way at the end of the page. 11-501, which is DUI, takes up most of it. Look way at the bottom.
