Trying to figure out wgich carpet piece goes where

Okay,
i thought years of playing tetris would come in handy, but apparently not.

Before i get high on the carpet adhesive, i thoght it would be a good idea to lay all the pieces out and know where everything goes, and how it fits.

Of course I can't figure out the last 2 pieces...

Do these 2 pieces look like they go in these 2 spots?

Rob

Not exactly as mine are cut, but they appear to be the pieces for where you show. My guess would be, put 'em in, if there right, Whoo Hoo, and if there wrong, don't tell Dave

The one on with the pad goes to the drivers side. I hated installing the moss kit for that exact reason. The rest of the kit is obvious till you get into the footwell.

I guess my problem is the restoration manual (which uses the moss kit) has a piece that looks like it fits perfectly.

I won't post it here, but i do believe i have seen the pic elsewhere.

missing piece?

Where is that piece?

On mine the piece that went to the right of the drivers right foot was a separate piece. Same on the passenger side. PJ

Hmmm, that makes sense. now that i see it, it's obvious.

I think i can figure out the passenger side as well, using the panel behind the center console as a guide.

i wasn't letting the unfinished edges go underneath the finished edges enough, and it was making the pieces appear too tall.

Thanks for all the input, now i just need the guts to glue it down....

Re: Trying to figure out wgich carpet piece goes w

Rob, The front floorboard pieces for the drivers side and passenger side do not get glued down! They snap to the floor so they can be removed for cleaning. Also, the piece that covers the rear shelf over the batteries snaps down also.PJ

Thanks Paul,
Julian and I were just talking about the snaps.

It's all starting to make sense, although i am still gaining confidence. almost ready to glue the sills down.

When i got the car, it had just come from the body shop, new floor boards and paint. not exactly sure what was done to coat the floar, so i am thinking of putting a coat of POR-15 down before I glue the carpet.
